Here is a sneak-peek into Six Buttons Down’ Design Studio. It’s a simple work place situated on the outskirts of Bangalore city. It’s a casual working space where we design, develop stylish clothes and contribute into skill development of tailors to create world class collection. We work with tailors who are at the entry phase and encourage them to upskill themselves as they spend time with us. We encourage our team to stay curious and experiment as they improve their skills.
We are a small brand which is led by women entrepreneurs. All our pieces are produced in-house. Infact, setting up our production place took a lot of years. Getting right people, developing skills, managing finance, learning about taxes and other business aspects took a lot of time.
Six Buttons Down seeks to empower women looking for a way to express themselves. We believe that clothing is one of the strongest expressions of a person’s aspiration, belief and desires. We believe, that through the right set of clothes, women can be provided with an additional Armour to challenge the stereotypes against them. Our designs are artistic with a sense of energy and individualism promoted through it.

Six Buttons Down has a sister brand called as 6+, which is more of an everyday wear, inspired from travel, loving nature, simple and slow living. We released our first trial collection last October. It was called ‘Diffusion line’. It consisted of pieces like dresses, shirt, skirt and trouser made from surplus fabrics. We also involved our customers in selecting our designs for shaping this collection. Our packaging was made from production scraps which turned out to be a beautiful patch work-bag.
